West of Rittenhouse Square, this existing single-family home in Fitler Square received a major interior and exterior renovation. The front façade was restored with new windows and wood shutters that were inspired by original shutters of the neighborhood.
Upon entering the home, a continuous line of sight connects the living room, kitchen, and dining room to the private rear yard via a large multi-slide glass door. An existing bearing wall, which supported the upper floors exterior facade, was removed and replaced with a new steel beam which is concealed within the ceiling. A new kitchen with custom cabinetry, large island, and separate coffee bar adjoins a sunny dining area that overlooks the beautifully renovated backyard.
New custom wood staircases and railings were installed to help the new homeowners traverse the rest of the home. The renovated upper floors include a balcony with rear yard views and a primary bathroom suite featuring a free-standing tub and a shower with both ceiling and wall fixtures.
